Eligible families can submit their child’s application in one of two ways:
Online at MySchools.nyc—This video covers how to set up your account.
At a Family Welcome Center—Find hours and locations at schools.nyc.gov/FWC. Supports are available in over 200 languages: be sure to ask for an interpreter.
Families whose children currently attend a charter or private school must submit their grades to determine eligibility. Contact a Family Welcome Center with your current report card grades by May 10 before 3pm in order to be screened for eligibility. When emailing a Family Welcome Center, include the following information:
Your child’s first name and last name, date of birth and Student ID (if they have one).
A brief summary of your needs. We will work with you to set up an appointment accordingly.
