PS 84 Jose de Diego is located in the diverse and art-friendly neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The main entrance to the school is on Berry Street, between Grand and S 1st Streets. The closest subways are the L train (Bedford stop) or the M train (Marcy stop).
The three-story building is bright and welcoming. It shares a city block with William Sheridan Park, which students have exclusive use of during the school day (track, field, basketball court and exercise equipment only).
3-K, Pre-K & Kindergarten
Each of our 3-K, Pre-K and K classrooms has a bathroom and a sink, and is located on the ground floor, with direct access to a private courtyard and playground where the younger students spend their recess.
William Sheridan Park
Students in grades 1-8 have exclusive access to the adjacent William Sheridan track and field, basketball courts and exercise equipment during recess and Physical Education.
Cafeteria/Gym
The school has a large and bright cafeteria where lunch is served. Breakfast is served either in the cafeteria or in the classroom. The space is also used for indoor sports and Physical Education classes during inclement weather.
Auditorium
Meetings, performances, and other events are held in the auditorium, which has a deep stage and seating for 200+ people.
Library
Our ever-growing library has a dedicated librarian and parent volunteers and over 6,000 titles.
Greenhouse
Our Greenhouse Science Laboratory is a rooftop classroom built around 21st century sustainable urban farming principles.
Technology Room
Our state-of-the-art computer lab features 30 iMac computers.
Art & Music Studios
The school has two large art studios and two music rooms.
