PS 84 is a 3-K to 8 school serving the community of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Our mission at PS 84 is for students to become lifelong learners.
Students who arrive at PS 84 in 3K and graduate in 8th grade have the opportunity to grow in a warm, inclusive, and nurturing school community. Our child-centered, diverse environment fosters self-confidence and mutual respect.
The dynamic standards-based curriculum delivered by our dedicated and qualified teachers ensures that all children meet their full potential. Working closely with parents and the Williamsburg community, we nurture the social, emotional, and educational lives of all our students.
We are proud to offer Spanish Dual Language, ICT, Micro ICT and G&T programs that cater to all segments of our student population.

Scholastic Book Fair!
Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! The book fair runs from Nov. 18-22, during our next welcome week
There’s even more info on our school’s Book Fair homepage. While you’re there, set up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Please print your eWallet if you are able, as it will make checking out faster and easier for your child.
When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called Share the Fair™. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books from the Fair.
Our wonderful librarian, Ms. Pecoraro, needs volunteers to work the fair this week. Please sign up below if you can come and help out our kids!

5th Grade Field Trip
Every year, the 5th grade participates in the Seeds to Trees Residency by the NYC Parks department. These photos are from our Field Experience at Marine Park salt marsh. Students were seining on the beach, catching, and identifying species. Those waiting for their turn to wade in the water were participating in a Beach clean up where they used grabbers to collect trash for beach stewardship.
In our gorgeous state of the art greenhouse, students learn the ins and outs of hydroponic farming. It all comes full circle on harvest day when the students are able to taste the fruits of their labor by making pesto and other delectable treats.
Our first grade students perform after finishing their Circus residency
8th Grade Photography
Our 8th graders studied portraiture, lighting, & composition in Mr. Guzman’s Graphic Arts class. They learned how to use professional photography gear & Adobe Creative Cloud. Students modeled for, shot and edited these dramatic photos using digital cameras & software provided by our PTA. Shown above is some of the best work from this unit.
